Rockingham Primary School

At Rockingham we are committed to being an inclusive school, providing the best possible standard of education for every child.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all the children in our care and have a large team trained in Safeguarding.

Rockingham’s recruitment and selection procedures specify that all adults working with children have an enhanced DBS disclosure. This is to ensure that all unsuitable people are prevented from working with children.

We have robust procedures for admitting anyone into the school who will work with children and any visitor without a DBS (formerly CRB) certificate, including parents, is accompanied at all times.

All visitors are provided with our Safeguarding information which outlines the procedure for reporting any concerns they may have.

Any member of staff witnessing a disclosure, or feeling concern, is directed to immediately record the details on our electronic system called Safeguard.  Where it is not possible to access a computer, or in the event of a visitor being concerned, one of the school’s internal concern forms (pink slips) is completed and returned to one of the DSLs immediately.

Please see our Child Protection policy for more detail about recognising the signs of abuse and the procedures to follow.

If you are a parent and have concerns about any child, whether a pupil at Rockingham or not, then you should contact the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH team) on 03001267000 (option 1). You can do this anonymously if you prefer.
